Plans to turn office block into flats submitted

A vacant office block in the centre of Nottingham could be turned into apartments after plans were submitted to the city council.

The building on Weekday Cross in the Lace Market sits along the tram tracks, with the previous occupiers having moved out and the space not being used for more than three months.

Developer ALB Group submitted plans to Nottingham City Council on Tuesday to turn the block into 18 apartments.

The council will decide on the application at a date to be confirmed.

It is planned for the ground floor to have three one-bed flats, with the first, second and third floor proposed to have three studio apartments and two one-bed flats each, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.

Planning documents state developers will not make any changes to the building's external look, but will change the internal layout of the block to accommodate the apartments.
